Rose's Morning!
Rose stumbled away from her bed, her hair a wild, soft mess sticking up in every direction—she’d only just dragged herself out from under the covers. She wore a light baby doll dress by Blue Flower that hung loosely around her hips, still warm from sleep. Resting comfortably along her forearm was Cocoa, her little brown fluffy puppy, calm and steady as he gazed straight ahead in the direction they were walking.

At the foot of the bed sat her old teddy bear. His stitched mouth turned slightly downward, and his button eyes looked round and forlorn—he wore a quiet, sad expression, as if he longed to be picked up and carried along too. He stayed perfectly still, watching Rose walk toward the door with Cocoa held securely, ready to step into the light and begin her day.
